In 2024, Albania is set to return to the Eurovision Song Contest, scheduled to take place in Malmö, Sweden.

The national broadcaster of Albania, Radio Televizioni Shqiptar (RTSH), has exclusively informed Eurovoix about Albania’s confirmed participation in the 68th Eurovision Song Contest. It is highly probable that RTSH will once again opt for Festivali i Këngës as the method for selecting Albania’s representative for the Eurovision Song Contest.

With this announcement, the count of confirmed participating countries for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest has reached 28.

Albania is poised to make its 20th appearance at the Eurovision Song Contest, having debuted in 2004. Throughout their Eurovision journey since 2004, Albania has successfully reached the grand final 11 times, the most recent being in the 2023 edition.

The 2023 Eurovision Song Contest, held in Liverpool last May, saw Albina & Familjia Kelmendi representing Albania with the song “Duje”. Their performance in the second semi-final earned them a 9th place qualification, securing 83 points from the public, including 12 points from the Rest of the World. However, their final performance placed them 22nd in the 2023 Grand Final, with a total of 76 points.

We can’t wait to see Albania again in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, which will be held in Malmö, Sweden in May 7, 9 and 11!
