Carlo Conti Returns as Host and Artistic Director of Festival di Sanremo

Popular Italian presenter Carlo Conti is set to take the helm of the prestigious Festival di Sanremo for the next two editions. This marks Conti’s return to the role, having previously served as both host and artistic director between 2015 and 2017.

The decision was unanimously made by the festival’s higher management, including CEO Roberto Sergio, General Manager Giampaolo Rossi, and Prime Time Entertainment Director Marcello Ciannamea.

Carlo Conti is a seasoned figure in Italian television, having started his presenting career in 1986. Over the years, he has hosted numerous successful shows like “Discoring,” “Aria fresca,” “L’eredità,” “I migliori anni,” “Tale e Quale Show,” and “Domenica in.” He even has experience with beauty pageants, having hosted five editions of “Miss Italia.”

Conti succeeds Amadeus, who held the positions of host and artistic director for the Festival di Sanremo from 2020 to 2024.

While Italy’s participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 is yet to be confirmed, it’s likely the winner of Sanremo 2025 will be offered the first chance to represent Italy in Switzerland.

In the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest, Italy was represented by Angelina Mango with the song “La noia,” achieving an impressive 7th place finish with 268 points.
