Norway has chosen its representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel, Switzerland: Kyle Alessandro. He won Melodi Grand Prix 2025 with his song “Lighter.”
The final took place at the Spektrum in Oslo, marking the national final’s return to this iconic venue for the first time since 2018. Nine acts competed for the coveted spot.
The show featured guest performances by last year’s Norwegian representatives, Gåte, who performed their 2024 Eurovision entry, “Ulveham.” Marcus & Martinus, who represented Sweden in 2024, also took the stage as interval acts, performing “La det swinge,” the song that brought Norway its first Eurovision victory in 1984.
The voting for Melodi Grand Prix 2025 was split 40/60, with an international jury accounting for 40% of the vote and the Norwegian televote making up the remaining 60%. The international jury consisted of representatives from: Denmark, Georgia, Luxembourg, Finland, Iceland, Croatia, Australia, Sweden, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.

- Wig Wam – “Human Fire” – 93 points
- LLL – “Parasite” – 54 points
- Kyle Alessandro – “Lighter” – 307 points
- Nataleen – “The Game” – 190 points
- Ladybug – “Hot as Hell in Paradise” – 51 points
- Bobbysocks – “Joyful” – 164 points
Kyle Alessandro will perform in the second half of the first semi-final on May 13th in Basel.
