Gåte To Represent Norway at Eurovision 2024

Norway has unveiled its musical ambassador for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, and the spotlight is on the dynamic band Gåte, set to represent the nation with their captivating song, “Ulveham” (Wolf man). The decision came after a thrilling final at Melodi Grand Prix 2024, held in Trondheim, Norway.

Hosted by Marion Ravn and Fredrik Solvang, the competition featured nine talented artists, each vying for the opportunity to represent Norway in Malmö. The final showcased a diverse range of musical styles and performances, adding to the excitement of the evening.

The results, a combination of jury votes and public televoting, revealed the following standings:

  1. Gåte – “Ulveham” – 76 (Jury) + 174 (Public) – 250 points
  2. KEiiNO – “Damdiggida” – 98 (Jury) + 146 (Public) – 244 points
  3. Erika Norwich & Super Rob – “My AI” – 45 (Jury) + 120 (Public) – 165 points
  4. Gothminister – “We Come Alive” – 35 (Jury) + 80 (Public) – 115 points
  5. Anne Fagermo & Dag Erik Oksvold – “Judge Tenderly of Me” – 58 (Jury) + 47 (Public) – 105 points
  6. MIIA – “Green Lights” – 54 (Jury) + 22 (Public) – 76 points
  7. Margaret Berger – “Oblivion” – 26 (Jury) + 19 (Public) – 45 points
  8. Ingrid Jasmin – “Eya” – 22 (Jury) + 20 (Public) – 42 points
  9. Annprincess – “Save Me” – 16 (Jury) + 17 (Public) – 33 points

 

The winner was determined by a combined score of 40% from the international jury and 60% from the public televote. KEiiNO secured the victory in the jury vote, while Gåte emerged as the public’s favorite, clinching the overall win.

Adding to the excitement of the evening, Eurovision alumni Alessandra, Bobbysocks, TIX, Alexander Rybak, and Carola graced the stage with special performances.

Gåte’s “Ulveham” will now carry the Norwegian flag at Eurovision 2024 in Malmö, Sweden.
