These talented artists will take turns performing their songs on XOW over four weeks, starting October 27th. During this period, both the public and a jury will have the opportunity to cast their votes for their favorite acts. The twelve acts with the highest points will progress to the final, set to take place in January.

However, the final of MESC 2024 introduces a unique format. Contestants will not perform their songs live; instead, they will record a live-on-tape version of their entry in December 2023. They’ll have three takes and a 60-minute window to capture their best possible performance.

Moreover, each of the twelve finalists will receive a €5,000 grant to create a music video, which will be showcased on the night of the grand final. To determine the winner who will represent Malta at Eurovision 2024, a combination of jury votes and public votes will be used.

The victorious act of MESC 2024 will follow in the footsteps of The Busker, the winner of the 2023 edition with “Dance (Our Own Party).” In Eurovision 2023, Malta performed in the First Semi-Final in Liverpool, United Kingdom, being eliminated due to a disappointing last place with a total of three points. The anticipation is building as Malta gears up for Malmö, Sweden, with the hope of leaving an indelible mark on the grand Eurovision stage.
