The excitement is building as Italian broadcaster Rai reveals the highly-anticipated lineup for the 74th edition of ‘Festival di Sanremo.’ Set to captivate audiences over five days in February 2024, this renowned music contest promises a star-studded array of talent, featuring both familiar faces and fresh voices. Hosted by Amadeus for the fifth and final year, San Remo 2024 is poised to deliver memorable performances, intriguing collaborations, and, undoubtedly, some surprises.
The list of performers announced on the TV newscast Tg1 on December 3rd is nothing short of spectacular. The roster includes iconic names such as Fiorella Mannoia, Il Volo, Emma, Mahmood, and Diodato. The diversity of talent ensures a mix of seasoned Sanremo veterans and artists with Eurovision Song Contest experience, adding an extra layer of excitement for fans.
Eurovision enthusiasts will be thrilled to see Mahmood making a return after representing Italy in 2019 and 2022. Il Volo, renowned for their third-place finish at Vienna 2015, will grace the Sanremo stage once again. Emma, who left a lasting impression with “La Mia Città” in 2014, is confirmed to participate, promising a dynamic and memorable performance.
Diodato, who clinched victory at Sanremo in 2020, is also set to make a triumphant return after the unfortunate cancellation of Eurovision in 2020. Despite the setback, he managed to showcase his winning song, “Fai Rumore,” as an interval act during the Eurovision Song Contest in 2022, hosted in Turin.
Adding an extra layer of anticipation, three more acts will join the lineup in late December. Sanremo Giovani, a separate arm of the song contest, will introduce emerging artists on December 20th. The top three contenders, as voted by the audience, will have the opportunity to join the established lineup of Sanremo 2024, ensuring a diverse and dynamic musical showcase.
Amadeus, the beloved master of ceremonies, will lead the festivities, bringing his charm and wit to the Sanremo stage for the final time. Each night, he will be joined by a different co-host: Marco Mengoni, Giorgia, Teresa Mannino, Lorella Cuccarini, and Rosario Fiorello, promising a delightful mix of personalities throughout the event.
