Silia Kapsis to Represent Cyprus at Eurovision 2024

Silia Kapsis, a talented singer of Cypriot and Greek descent, has been officially announced as Cyprus’ representative for the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö in May. Hailing from Sydney, Australia, Silia has a diverse background in the entertainment industry. She has been the lead singer for the Australian Youth Performing Arts Company (AYPAC) and has performed at various high-profile events worldwide. In addition to her singing career, Silia has a passion for pop music and released her debut song, “Who Am I?” in 2022, which she wrote and composed at the age of 12. She followed it up with singles like “No Boys Allowed” and “Disco Dancer” in 2023, with more music expected in the near future.

Silia has also made a name for herself in the dance world, working with renowned choreographers and even joining the ImmaBeast Dance Company in Los Angeles. She has danced with Stephen tWitch Boss on The Jennifer Hudson Show and appeared in a dance documentary produced by Taboo from the Black-Eyed Peas. Not limited to music and dance, Silia has ventured into acting and was cast as the lead role in her debut short film, “Pearly Gates.” She has also been involved in various television projects for Nickelodeon, serving as a regular host on Nick News.

Cyprus, despite numerous Eurovision Song Contest appearances, has never won the competition, with their best result being a second-place finish by Eleni Foureira in 2018 with “Fuego.” Silia Kapsis is expected to bring her multifaceted talent to the Eurovision stage, and more details about her song for the competition will be revealed in the future. The Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to take place in Malmö, Sweden, with the First Semi-Final on May 7, the Second Semi-Final on May 9, and the Grand Final on May 11, 2024.
